3. JKIFM Ethics Committee Regulations

Established on 2025.4.1.

2nd Revised on 2026.5.21.

1. Purpose: These regulations provide rules for the matters of composition and operation of the Ethics Committee (referred to as "Committee") of the Journal of Korean Institute for Functional Medicine (referred to as "JKIFM"), scholarly journal by the Korean Institute for Functional Medicine (referred to as "KIFM").

2. Composition:

1) The chairperson of the Committee

2) Standing members

3. Term: The terms of the chairperson and members shall be two years from the appointment date.

4. Mission: The Committee is responsible for the following matters;

1) Matters concerning research ethics and publication ethics of articles submitted or published in JKIFM.

2) Research activities to enhance ethical awareness in academic journals.

3) Consultation on the research ethics and publication ethics of the KIFM or member associations.

4) Other matters deemed necessary by the chairperson or two or more members.

5. Meeting: The committee meetings shall be divided into regular and temporary meetings. The regular meetings shall be convened once a year, and the temporary meetings shall be convened when the chairperson deems their necessity.

6. Decision: The committee meetings shall require the attendance of a majority of the incumbent members. Decisions shall be made with the approval of a majority of the members present, and shall be rejected if there is a tie in votes.

7. Supplementary Provision: Matters not discussed in these regulations shall be proposed by the Committee and determined by the chairperson of the Committee.
